Make the Most of Your Time
Make the Most of Your Time.
When your feet hit the wedding show floor, you want to make the most of the time you’re there. After all, you have put so much effort into scheduling the show, securing a booth, designing and ordering marketing materials and so much more that it’d be disappointing to realize you only had time to chat with a handful of brides. Here are a few tips to help you make the most of your time when brides visit your booth.
Have your calendar handy. Brides upon brides will visit your booth at any given show so maximize the time by starting each conversation with the wedding date. By referencing your schedule, you’ll immediately know if you’re available or not and save yourself the extra details in case you are already booked.
Inquire about the wedding location. It’s also important to ask brides up front where their wedding is taking place. If you don’t travel very far or if the majority of your business is involved in destination weddings, this detail can greatly impact if you can work with this client.
Make it known what you do and what you can offer from the start. Whether it’s the design of your booth or the way you introduce yourself, make it abundantly clear to attendees the service you can provide. It also never hurts to simply ask “are you looking for a [florist, cake artist, planner, etc.]?”
Booth space isn’t enough. Some brides might need real space if bombarded with details. If a bride seems overwhelmed, simply offer a business card and tell her to reach out if she has any questions. By not feeling overly “sold to” a bride will be more apt to contact the business that makes her feel at ease.
Try to book appointments for deeper conversations. Instead of participating in a full-blown consultation in the booth, try to schedule an appointment with the bride to talk in further detail at a later date. This way, you’ll be able to get her undivided attention and save time, too.
Provide the best connections, not just the best booth. Brides will remember your business at the end of the day because of how you made them feel. Some vendors spend exorbitant amounts of money into making their booths the flashiest or most eye-catching but the truth is the personal connection can help you secure business. This is an easy way to book business without investing a lot of time and resources!
The time at any wedding show is limited and it’s best to plan ahead to make the most of your time with each bride. Be thoughtful and considerate in each conversation so you can efficiently share how you can make their day special and still meet as many attendees as possible!
